Mercedes AMG HPP in Brixworth, UK are responsible for the design, development and manufacture of Mercedes-Benz Formula One engines and hybrid systems, as well as high-end engineering projects for road cars such as the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive - the world’s first zero-emission sports car.
With a new Power Unit on the horizon for 2014, the technical challenges on offer at Brixworth are even greater than ever for the next intake of graduates and placement students.
The graduate scheme lasts for two years and includes placements in different areas of the business to give a thorough understanding of how the company and each department work. Graduates will also have the opportunity to work towards chartered status with the IMechE, CIPS or equivalent.
Mercedes AMG HPP are looking for Graduates in the following areas:
Mechanical Engineering - suitable for students who have studied Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Aeronautical, Motorsport Engineering or similar.
Manufacturing Engineering - suitable for students who have studied Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Motorsport Engineering or similar.
Build Support - suitable for students who have studied Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Motorsport Engineering or similar.
Test Operations/Software control - suitable for students who have studied Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar
Quality Engineering - suitable for students who have studied Quality, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar
Electronics Engineering - suitable for students who have studied Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar
Business Systems/IT - suitable for students who have studied IT or related degrees
Applicants should either have or be expecting to attain a minimum of a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject as detailed above.

Mercedes AMG HPP takes on a number of undergraduate students for a ‘year in industry’ in areas throughout the business, including engineering, manufacturing, test, build, IT and finance.
The available roles are for a 12 month period. Please note that Mercedes AMG HPP are unable to offer summer placements.
Students should ideally be working towards a 2.1 or higher classification in a relevant degree.

Purchasing & Logistics-
Engineering & Operations
Programme Management – work will consist of helping to manage the specification and build processes for our engines and hybrid systems.
Mechanical Engineering - work will consist of either mechanical design or engine running/testing.
Electronics – the work will consist of either hardware or software engineering of engine control electronics or hybrid/electric power control, energy storage and deployment devices.
KERS Build -
Materials Science/Engineering – the work conducted will include analysis of failed components/systems as well as a research project.
