With victory in Suzuka, the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team claimed its third World Constructors 'Championship title in succession, with four races of the 2016 season still to contest. Race drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton have set a blistering pace, taking 15 victories and 25 podium finishes.
And the very week that this accomplishment is being celebrated, the Silver Arrows are donating their driver race suits to the Laureus Sport for Good Italia Foundation in a fundraising effort to support the Italian population hit by a recent earthquake.
Running until Sunday 30th October, the two race suits, which have been signed by the drivers themselves, will be auctioned in individual lots via the website charitystars.com/mercedes. This is a unique opportunity to acquire two pieces of motor racing history, which are sure to become coveted objects for collectors worldwide.
Nico's race suit was worn at the 2016 Austrian, British, Hungarian and German Grands Prix, while Lewis’ suit saw action at the Russian, Spanish, Monaco, Canadian and European Grands Prix.
