Some of you are already using our Live Data system… but do you know how it works and what goes on behind the scenes for the feed to exist? As with everything in the world of Formula One, developing the system has required long hours, patience and technical knowledge from our experts in Brackley and Stuttgart.
For those of you who never experienced our Live Data system before, let’s rewind a little bit. Along with everything that we do on the website, the idea to work on the Live Data came from a desire to offer you, our fans, a brand new experience and an exclusive way to approach a Grand Prix weekend. We worked very hard with our race engineers and web experts to come up with an interactive tool which would allow our fans to visualise what is going on with our cars when Michael and Nico are on track. The Live Data allows you to know the location of both cars around the track, which gear the drivers have selected, the speed, steering direction, G-force loads, and even the throttle and brake pedal pressures!
The Live Data system will be live and accessible in the header of the website for Qualifying and the Race during every Grand Prix of the season. We won’t run the system during the Friday practice sessions for a simple reason… the system is authentic and needs to be tested and calibrated on Fridays to make sure we offer you the fastest, sharpest, most precise and reliable experience possible.
To experience Live Data on Saturday from the Sepang International Circuit, simply register or login on the website and let us do the rest… the header will expand and take you for a ride!
See you there…
