Emilia RomagnaGrand Prix

The very first F1 race at Imola officially took place in 1963, when Jim Clark won the non-championship event by lapping almost the entire field on route to seeing the chequered flag first. The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari first officially appeared on the Formula One calendar in 1980 when it played host to the Italian Grand Prix in place of Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.

Although the Italian Grand Prix moved back to Monza from 1981, this wasn’t Formula One’s final trip to Imola - a decision welcomed by drivers and fans, who enjoyed the circuit’s fast-paced, anti-clockwise nature. For each season between the years of 1981 and 2006, Formula One returned to the track to race the San Marino Grand Prix.

2006 wasn’t the last we’d see of Imola, though. 2020’s unprecedented season saw its return with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Proving to still be the track it always was, it’s no surprise that Formula One has continued to race at the track since.

While the drivers’ championship has never been decided in Imola, the Constructors’ Championship has been clinched twice, most recently in 2020, when Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas’ one-two finish sealed the championship for our Team.
