Exclusive Q&A with George

Earlier today, George paid the factory a visit, not only to work in the sim and have engineering meetings, but he also took time to speak to team members.

George gave insight into his season so far, future championship aspirations, and his unwavering belief in the Team's potential. Despite a challenging 2023 for the Team, he remains optimistic about the future, drawing inspiration from the progress of other teams and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

Q: You've been spotted at the factory recently, what have you been up to?

George Russell: I've been working hard in the sim, focusing on the development of the W15 car for next season. It's crucial to lay a strong foundation for the future.

Q: Currently, the Team is in P2 in the championship. What are your goals for the remainder of the season?

George: Securing P2 in the championship is definitely a target, but we're also looking ahead. Our main focus is on next year, and that's where our efforts are concentrated.

Q: What makes you believe in this team and its potential for success?

George: I have absolute belief in the team. The passion and dedication of everyone working here are incredible. We're like a family, and that camaraderie drives us to excel.

Q: This season has had its challenges. Can you share some of the lessons you've learned, both personally and professionally?

George: It's been a tough season with some missed opportunities, but every setback is a chance to learn and grow. I've personally learned a lot, and professionally, it's made us stronger as a team.

Q: Looking ahead to the future, what's your outlook, especially with the progress of other teams?

George: I'm optimistic about next year. Seeing the progress that other teams have made, like Aston Martin and McLaren, is encouraging. If they've managed it, so can we!

Q: What are your hopes for upcoming races?

George: Mexico and Brazil are both fantastic races, and we're hopeful for strong performances there. With only six races to go though, we want to maximise our results at every single race. We're going all-in to make the most of these opportunities.

Q: You mentioned learning from mistakes. Can you elaborate on the lessons learned over the last 18 months?

George: We've learned so much from the mistakes that we've made over the last 18 months. It's about refining our strategies, improving our decision-making, and evolving as a team. Personally, I feel like I always learn the most from those situations. It makes me a better driver and person. You can’t be afraid to fail.
