Join the Car Build Department as we take on the challenge of Formula One’s exciting new era of sustainable technical regulations.

By spending your year in industry with us, you will:

  • Apply your learning in one of the most technically demanding global sports

As an Industrial Placement in Car Build:

The Car Build Department is responsible for the assembly of most major components that make up our race cars. As a key member of this team, you will directly support our various departments with a wide range of tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • The design of components such as special tooling and parts packaging

  • Servicing and calibration of department equipment (including interaction with outside suppliers)

  • Car Build process development

  • The auditing of various Build related documents

Successful candidates will:

  • Have a strong academic background in a Mechanical/Aero/Motorsports engineering discipline

  • Be conversant with Solidworks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360 or similar design software

  • Be confident communication skills

  • Be comfortable with Excel, Word & Python

  • Have at least one year remaining on your current course or be enrolled on your next course* from the point at which you start your placement with us (Please note that if you will be enrolled on a Masters or PhD course you will need to be able to evidence enrolment to confirm eligibility)

  • Take full ownership of their work, driving projects forward with initiative and independence

  • Be adaptable, have a proactive mindset, a collaborative approach and thrive in a team environment

  • Show determination and resilience when facing challenges

  • Have keen attention to detail

  • Possess an analytical and inquisitive approach

  • Relish challenges and enjoy pushing for continuous improvement

Additional desirable criteria:

  • Candidates who are passionate about reaching their full potential and are excited about constantly learning

  • Examples of initiative taken to gain practical “hands on” experience
