Lewis once again features on the list of nominees for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year, following on from his remarkable, Championship-winning 2018 campaign. He was also nominated for the category last year, when the award was won by tennis star Roger Federer.
French football player Kylian Mbappé and Croatian football player Luka Modrić, who starred in last year's FIFA World Cup, NBA legend Lebron James, tennis world No.1 Novak Djokovic and Eliud Kipchoge - who won both the Berlin and London marathons in 2018 - are the other potential award-winners in the category.
The nominations are chosen by a panel of leading sports editors, writers and broadcasters, with the winners then being selected by the Laureus World Sports Academy.
The 2019 Laureus World Sports Awards takes place in Monaco on 18 February, where the winners will be announced.
