The dates for all 24 races in 2027 have been released by the FIA, and the calendar is stacked – with a record-breaking 10 Sprint weekends.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2027 F1 calendar.

For the first time in three years, the Bahrain Grand Prix will open the season on 14 March, with the now-traditional closer in Abu Dhabi following almost nine months later on 12 December.

In a Formula One first, both the first and final rounds of the season will be Sprint weekends.

The British Grand Prix at Silverstone – featuring the George Russell Grandstand, new for 2027 – and the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the site of Kimi Antonelli’s iconic home win this year – will both be Sprint weekends as well.

The calendar also features two old favourites returning to the rotation.

The Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimão, last held in 2021, returns in mid-June. The Algarve circuit is one we have fond memories of, after Lewis Hamilton’s back-to-back wins in 2020 and 2021.

Also returning from a six-year hiatus is the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park, slotting in between Azerbaijan and Singapore in a continent-spanning triple-header. The 2020 edition has entered motorsport lore as the site of Lewis’ record-equalling seventh World Championship, and was followed by Valtteri Bottas’ victory in 2021.

All in all, the first 13 races (Bahrain to Hungary) and the remaining 11 (Italy to Abu Dhabi) will be separated by four weeks of summer break.

Five double-headers and three triple-headers should mean that fans won’t often have to wait long between the chequered flag at one race and the five red lights at the next.
