FP3 focused on evaluating overnight changes and both drivers felt comfortable in the car, ending the final hour of practice P3 and P4.
Both George and Kimi progressed to Q3, with Kimi showing good pace under pressure to deliver on his final lap in both Q1 and Q2.
In a competitive session, George topped the times in Q2 and carried that pace into Q3.
Both of his lap times in Q3 were good enough to take pole, his seventh of his F1 career and first in Singapore.
That marks the seventh pole position in Singapore for Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, matching the total of Ferrari as an engine supplier.
Whilst Kimi improved his best time, he would have to settle for P4 and a spot on the second row.
