At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars with the aim of fighting for world championships each and every year.

We are looking for a Technical Buyer to procure direct components and services from the external supply chain in line with the Purchasing processes**.**

About the role:

As a Technical Buyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Procurement of all components and services and negotiate the price and delivery to support the business with a focus on right first time and strive to maximise value for money.

  • Create strong, effective working relationships with stakeholders.

  • Ensure a professional process and control of expenditure is maintained adhering to relevant Purchasing, Quality and Finance procedures.

  • Assist and manage the supply chain to support the business needs.

  • A tenacious can do attitude and demonstrate this in their daily role, but also show exceptional supplier communication with a structured approach.

  • Substantial experience of managing change within a low volume, high complexity environment.

  • Stakeholder engagement to effectively manage both external suppliers and internal customers while demonstrating effecting dispute resolution and conflict management.

  • Proactively expediting all open purchase orders and updating SAP and stakeholders as necessary.

  • Actively promoting all purchasing & quality policies and procedures throughout the business.

  • Creating a positive profile for themselves and the department.

  • Working collaboratively with design and the supply chain to reduce lead-times and cost where possible

  • Ideally CIPS qualified or equivalent

  • Resilient and professional with a belief in the concept of Continuous Improvement.

  • Energetic with a strong work ethic and customer focus.

  • Commercially aware with solid negotiation skills.

  • Supporting cost reduction and supplier management programme.

  • Ensuring good maintenance of data held with SAP procurement functions and proficiency.

  • Actively promoting Purchasing practices and procedures.
