Ethan joined the Junior Programme at the start of 2025 and one of his first activities with the team was a karting day at Whilton Mill with our F1 driver, Kimi Antonelli, and some of our other Juniors.

From Lancaster, UK, Ethan started indoor karting at the age of five before moving into outdoor karting and competitive racing – having already broken several indoor track records at the age of six.

Once he turned eight and was able to race, he immediately made an impression. Over the following years, he earned the MBKC Top Rookie title, was a front-runner at club level in the UK and won the Motorsport UK Top Rookie Award in 2019.

The success kept on coming with the 2022 Rotax Max European Junior Championship and the British Open ‘O Plate’ Junior Championship. He then became the youngest winner of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy in 2023 and won it again the following year.

2024 also marked a milestone moment as Ethan went onto secure the FIA World Karting Championship title in the OK category. Alongside his karting, Ethan also moved into car racing and claimed the Ginetta Junior Championship in his rookie season.

In 2025, Ethan joined the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team Junior Programme, marking a significant step in his development and placing him within one of Formula One’s most respected driver pathways. He was subsequently selected as a BRDC Rising Star, recognising his performances and long-term potential across multiple racing disciplines.

Later that year, Ethan stepped up to single-seater competition in the British F4 Championship, where he completed his rookie season by finishing fifth in the Drivers’ Championship, scoring seven podium finishes and 206 points.

During the season, he also achieved a podium finish at Silverstone during the British Grand Prix weekend, a landmark moment at Formula One’s home circuit.

For 2026, Ethan will continue competing in the British F4 Championship as he builds towards the next stages of his professional single-seater career.

Driver Development Advisor Gwen Lagrue on Ethan:

“After winning the 2024 OK World Championship and securing the Junior title in Ginetta in the same year, Ethan stepped up to his first season of Formula 4 in the British Championship in 2025.

"He delivered solid and encouraging results throughout the year, showing strong adaptability and continued progression.

"These performances should now allow him to fight for the championship title in 2026, and we fully expect him to take another significant step forward.”
