As 2025 draws to a close, we spoke to our Head of Inclusion and Social Impact, Hiran Odedra, to recap the best of our Inclusion and Social Impact highlights this year.

“It’s been another busy but fulfilling year working towards our Inclusion and Social Impact goals.

“2025 marked a natural evolution of our Accelerate 25 programme, our five-year initiative launched in 2020 to increase diversity and inclusion across the team.

“Whilst we are proud of all that we have achieved to help diversify our team and wider sport through Accelerate 25, diversity and inclusion is no longer seen as a standalone priority.

“We are working towards embedding it into everything that we do to drive team cohesion, performance and innovation, enabling us to foster a culture where everyone feels valued and can thrive.”

Across this year, some of our internal activities included:

  • Creating an EDI Committee made up of team members committed to championing our Inclusion and Social Impact goals and creating positive change

  • Holding an Inclusion Fair to refamiliarise team members with the networks and clubs available that our team has to offer

  • Marking International Women’s Day, Pride Month and Black History Month through initiatives led by our internal employee networks

  • Continuing to create opportunities for team members to support our Inclusion and Social Impact activities through career talks, mentoring and factory tours

“Beyond our team, we have created pathways and opportunities that deliver meaningful social impact within our sport and across the wider engineering sector, opening doors for those historically underrepresented in Formula 1.

“In February, we launched the Future Engineers Academy alongside Star Academies, a bespoke programme that enabled over 1,000 students to discover STEM in their classrooms and at our factory, building the skills and confidence to pursue careers in engineering and motorsport along the way.

“Across the year, we ran another successful and impactful mentoring scheme with AFBE, which culminated in a mentee joining us as an official team member in the Summer.

“We’ve continued to support the Sutton Trust’s Pathway to Engineering programme by welcoming 11 students for work experience at our factory.”

“In the Summer, we celebrated International Women in Engineering Day. Alongside Girls on Track, we welcomed our team members’ young girls and relatives into our factory for a special day of learning, discovery and interaction centred around STEM.”

“Members of our LGBTQ+ network also represented us at Racing Pride’s flagship event ‘Accelerate Pride’ hosted at Brooklands Museum.

“In September, we marked a special milestone with Mulberry Schools Trust as we celebrated five years of the Mulberry STEM Academy co-created by the team and the trust.

“Through the programme, we have helped over 500 students from low socio-economic backgrounds begin careers in STEM and in turn, created real societal change in the students’ communities.

“2025 also saw a second cohort of STEM students start their university degrees supported by a bespoke scholarship created by the team and Zero Gravity, and the first recipient of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS scholarship, co-created with Imperial College London, begin their studies in the university’s Department of Aeronautics.

“We are proud to have made good progress against our commitment to F1’s Diversity and Inclusion charter too.

“We couldn’t have done any of this without the support of our team members and Inclusion and Social Impact partners.

“Next year presents a new era and exciting challenges for all teams across the grid. Off track, Inclusion and Social Impact continues to be important to the team. We will remain committed to embedding an inclusive culture within our team and driving positive change within our sport, through education and awareness and impactful partnerships.

“Our aspiration is to develop the pipeline of diverse talent and welcome more students into our team who have benefitted from our Social Impact partnerships and initiatives.”
