Montreal, Zandvoort and Singapore will debut on the Sprint rota, while Silverstone – which hosted the first ever Sprint race in 2021 – returns to the schedule.

As in 2025, China and Miami will host the first two Sprints in the season. The Miami event this year saw Kimi become the youngest polesitter in our sport’s history when he claimed P1 for Saturday’s race.

Belgium, the United States, Qatar and Brazil come off the Sprint calendar from this year.

It will be the first time since the format’s inaugural season in 2021 that Interlagos will not host a Sprint race.

From 21 F1 Sprint races since 2021, the team has scored three wins, nine podiums, three poles and amassed 123 points.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “The F1 Sprint has continued to grow in positive impact and popularity since it was introduced in 2021. With four competitive sessions rather than two during a conventional Grand Prix weekend, F1 Sprint events offer more action each day for our fans, broadcast partners, and for the promoters - driving increased attendance and viewership."

He added: “The 2026 season will usher in a new era of regulations, so having three new Sprint venues will only add to the drama on track. I want to thank the FIA, all the promoters, our partners, marshals, volunteers, and local sporting clubs for continuing to make the Sprint a big success and we all look forward to giving our fans more incredible racing and excitement in the 2026 season.”
