Where Are We At?
Here’s how the standings look going into the penultimate weekend of the season in Qatar:
Position | Team | Points |
P2 | Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 | 431 |
P3 | Red Bull Racing | 391 |
P4 | Scuderia Ferrari | 378 |
A season-long battle is approaching its conclusion.
Just two Grand Prix weekends remain before we find out who will come out on top in the fight for second in the 2025 F1 Constructors’ standings.
For the first time, the three-way tussle between our team, Red Bull, and Ferrari can be settled this weekend in Qatar.
Here’s a rundown of what’s happened so far, where we stand, and who needs to do what in Lusail.
Here’s how it could all be decided.
There are currently 101 points left to play for in the Constructors’ standings. At present, we have a 40-point lead over Red Bull and a 53-point advantage over Ferrari.
Red Bull can score a maximum of 492 points, while Ferrari’s maximum possible target after 24 races is 479.
This means that if we can score 62 more points between now and the end of the season, we cannot be caught in the race for P2.
But that can be secured this weekend, with one round to spare.
The maximum on offer in Qatar is 58 (a one-two in both Sprint and Grand Prix), and in Abu Dhabi this figure will be 43 (a one-two in the Grand Prix).
For our team to have secured P2 in the standings when we leave Lusail on Sunday night, we will need an advantage of 44 points or more to the team in P3.
This can be achieved if:
We outscore Red Bull by four or more points at the Qatar Grand Prix, AND Ferrari do not outscore us by more than 10 points.
Any other scenario outside of this will see the fight go down to the wire in Abu Dhabi in a week’s time.
Two years ago, the battle for P2 between Ferrari and our team was decided at the last race in Yas Marina, with George’s podium securing the position by just three points.
Of the three teams, Red Bull have collected the most wins, with six.
Our Team has two, while Ferrari are yet to stand on the top step of a Grand Prix podium so far in 2025.
Red Bull also lead the way in podiums, with 13, closely followed by the Silver Arrows with 12. The Scuderia have seven to their name so far this campaign.
In terms of Sprints, the points are close. Across five weekends in 2025, Ferrari have scored 36 points, our team has 35, and Red Bull have scored 32.
Within that, Red Bull have won two Sprints, and Ferrari have won one.
Across the season, our team has averaged 19.6 points across a race weekend, with a highest return of 43 achieved from the Interlagos Sprint event.
Red Bull currently average 17.8 points per weekend. Their highest-scoring race (41) came from the Austin Sprint weekend.
Ferrari’s average score so far this season is 17.1. Their strongest weekend came in Monaco, where they added 28 points to their tally.
