Singapore lights up the Marina Bay Street Circuit for Round 17 of the season and for the first time in its history, the night race comes with a Sprint.

The 4.940-kilometre layout has the typical characteristics of a street circuit, with barriers close to the racing line and limited overtaking opportunities. With the heat and humidity adding to the challenge for both car and driver, strategy and tyre management are central to the weekend. Pirelli expects a one-stop to remain the preferred option, given the time lost in the pit lane and the frequent likelihood of neutralisations.

Pirelli has nominated its three softest compounds for the weekend, the same selection as last year. The C5 will serve as the Soft, C4 as the Medium and C3 as the Hard, a step softer across the range than at the previous round in Malaysia. Pirelli expects more extensive running on the softest tyre throughout the weekend. Here's how this weekend's allocation looks for the trip to Singapore:

Due to the Sprint format, drivers have 12 sets of dry tyres rather than the usual 13. Teams also have six sets of Intermediates and three sets of full Wets to navigate any adverse weather. All drivers must use at least two different tyre compounds during a dry Grand Prix.

With the Sprint compressing the practice schedule, there is less time than usual to understand how the tyres behave in the Singapore conditions, so the work done in the first session will be key.

What are the 2026 F1 Tyres?

The Pirelli tyres for 2026 are 18-inch wheels. Front tyres are 705mm in height and 280mm in width (a 25mm decrease from previous years) and rear tyres are now 710mm in height and 375mm in width (a 30mm reduction from previous seasons).

In 2026, there will be five compounds of dry tyres to choose from across the season: C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5.
