Russell Braithwaite is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. He joined the team in 2018, bringing with him extensive experience from his previous roles within the Mercedes-Benz parent company.

Russell's career with Mercedes-Benz began in 2002 as a Financial Controller in the UK. He then undertook a General Management role, followed by a significant tenure as CFO of the brand’s Middle East operations based in Dubai, UAE.

At Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, Russell is responsible for overseeing the financial sustainability and strategic financial planning of the team. His role is crucial in ensuring the team remains competitive both on and off the track.

On track, the Financial Regulations play a critical part in driving performance, and the CFO role is pivotal in optimally aligning this technical spend with the engineering community.

During his tenure, the team has continued to excel, securing multiple championships and always finishing in the upper rankings of the championship.

In his role of CFO, Russell is also responsible for overseeing the financial independent sustainability of the team and has played a key role in significantly increasing enterprise value in recent years.
