High-end cinematic content creation in collaboration with adidas Motorsport, adidas Football and UEFA Champions League, as they told the story of the Official Match Ball being collected and ‘raced’ across Europe in time for the Champions League Final, on the 31st of May 2025 in Munich.

Activation Overview

Adidas Motorsports, adidas Football, and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team joined forces to amplify pre-match anticipation by introducing the concept of the ‘Official Match Ball Delivery’. This initiative spotlighted the W16 and built excitement around the UEFA Champions League final, seamlessly blending the worlds of high-performance motorsport and elite football.

The subsequent film followed the Official Match Ball’s journey, all the way from the factory in Brackley to the Allianz Arena in Munich. Transported by no other than George Russell in the W16, who was wearing a bespoke helmet, the design of which was inspired by the Official Match Ball.

The content was released on the 30th of May as a collaboration post between the Team, adidas Motorsports, adidas Football and UEFA Champions League.

Collaborating with UEFA and adidas Football gave the newly formed adidas Motorsport brand the ability to tap into a massive, highly engaged global audience of sports fans. Leveraging these well-established platforms enabled adidas to amplify the influence and visibility of the partnership on a global scale.

This activation supported adidas’ goal to build brand equity through engagement by accessing a fresh and expansive fanbase, driving growth and long-term brand success through shared momentum and strategic collaboration.
