Adidas Motorsports, adidas Football, and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team joined forces to amplify pre-match anticipation by introducing the concept of the ‘Official Match Ball Delivery’. This initiative spotlighted the W16 and built excitement around the UEFA Champions League final, seamlessly blending the worlds of high-performance motorsport and elite football.
The subsequent film followed the Official Match Ball’s journey, all the way from the factory in Brackley to the Allianz Arena in Munich. Transported by no other than George Russell in the W16, who was wearing a bespoke helmet, the design of which was inspired by the Official Match Ball.
The content was released on the 30th of May as a collaboration post between the Team, adidas Motorsports, adidas Football and UEFA Champions League.
