The Akkodis Lead the Charge programme is an internship that offers a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity for one candidate to join the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team for a Formula One World Championship season.

The 2025 Akkodis Lead the Charge activation was delivered as a content-first campaign, focusing on celebrating the programme’s long-term value through the story of Kim Quaghebeur, Sustainability and Environmental Coordinator, a former Lead the Charge participant who progressed into a full-time role within the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s sustainability team.

Activation Overview

Following three successful years of Lead the Charge, 2025 marked a second year with Kim Quaghebeur as a full-time Team member. The campaign shifted from recruitment to storytelling, using Kim’s journey to demonstrate the programme’s lasting influence and impact, by bringing her into the wider community and showcasing her experiences with Akkodis and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team.

Through engaging, human-led storytelling, the activation showcased how Akkodis’ expertise in technology and sustainability translates into real careers and tangible impact within a high-performance motorsport environment. The content positioned ‘Lead the Charge’ as an established, knowledge-sharing programme which provides candidates with lasting outcomes, such as a full-time role with the Team. For Akkodis, this programme also showcases their partnership pillars to drive innovation, talent development and human performance.

From the factory to the racetrack, Kim has spent the past two years working alongside the Team, leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive innovation and sustainable solutions. In 2025, she shares her journey with school and university students, sharing insights on her role and Lead the Charge, whilst inspiring the next generation of talent. For Kim, participating in the Lead the Charge programme has translated into real-world career progression and meaningful professional growth.
